Penalties for a Domestic Violence Assault In Texas
The penalties for a domestic violence assault include the following:

Class A misdemeanor: up to 1 year in jail or a fine of up to $4,000, or both

Third-degree felony: 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000

Second-degree felony: 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000

First-degree felony: 5 to 99 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000
A person convicted of the assault may also be in charge of compensating the victim for any bills including medical treatment counseling, or replacement of damaged property.
